Walking through Belleville, Ontario . . . other striders (those serious about walking in the early morning) have all put on cologne.  As they pass you, the smells waft forth!  The old age walkers begin about 8:00 in the morning.  Saturday morning is busy with garage salers and those headed to church breakfasts.

Walking through Georgetown, Ontario . . . The suburb we are in is disconnected from the town so all strollers are doing it for exercise, for the dogs exercise or just for the fun of it.  The homes are extravagant on the front and about 2 feet deep. 

Next few days we will visit the thrift store (Waste Wise!) and see the sights.  Then venturing home will become the next project beginning on Tuesday.

So, here we are a few days ago.  The sun is shining and people are enjoying the day.  Before everyone leaves, Jill’s mom and her siblings and one nephew, along with the families pose for the “family portrait”.  What fun to be together – but too soon to part.

This July 4th is in the USA – at Avon Lake, a suburb of Cleveland. 

We are visiting with my wife’s family.  All the siblings were together for a birthday on July 1st and now four couples and mom remain in Avon Lake.

So tonight we ventured off to the Lake (Erie).   There a band played and the fireworks exploded.  Much to our delight and to the town’s morale.  We figure more than a few thousand showed up on the shore’s edge to watch, listen and generally express delight.

Now, that is fun!  And tonight we will sleep well – I’ve gotten more exercise than expected – our car was a good mile (note the Americanism!) from the fireworks.
