Last year at this time it was 9/9/9. A group called the Leadership Network capitalized on the idea of the NINES. A day long online streamed video of various church leaders talked for a few minutes on church leadership.
The idea was a great one – to say the least. This year they presented the same thing again. I watched more this year than last. Caught some good thoughts which I am still distilling. Hopefully I can get some of that out to you in the next while.
I like the one liner – “we learn through revelation or tribulation.” The Bible is great but some days trial and error just teaches simply and fully!

Since when do church programs have more males than females?
Well, I was at our grades 5-7 program this evening. Out of a total of 14 kids out this first week, only three were girls.
Now, our games director is a male, so he has good sense for how to deal with the guys. Works well.
Which also bodes well for church programs in the future. I’m always one looking for more male involvement. So, here it is. Give us ten years and watch out world!
Now, we do have a second bathroom in our suite in the basement. But the main bathroom has been sprouting some mould lately. We have tried enzymes and scrub downs. To no avail.
So, this weekend I sanded the shower area. Found that the mould only went as far as the top coat of paint. Was very thankful.
Then, I filled in some cracks/holes. Covered this with plaster. Found that the plaster job was actually fairly good – my usual phenomenon is not quite so good! Placed a coat of primer over the plaster, two coats of paint on the wall and now we have a whole new shower area.
Tomorrow morning will be “try out” time. With no mould growing on the wall!
Our other bathroom? In good shape – and I hope it stays that way!
A month ago I bought a book. By Daniel Pink called DRIVE.
The subject: What motivates us?
Great read – if you can pick up the book, do so. If not, take a look at this “animation” that summarizes thoughts from the book. We used to call this the “Coles” version – but now that you can get it in video form I guess it would be the “VColes” version. Anyways, this out.
