I guess I sometimes get so busy I forget.
This weekend I’m on my own. Jill is off to a retreat at Lumsden, Saskatchewan. Four hours away – just far enough that she’s not rushing home. Close enough that you don’t feel like you have to phone constantly to see what is happening.
And so, as I sat working at the office this morning, a friend phoned. Wayne wanted to see if I had plans for supper. Well, I know there are plenty of leftovers in the fridge, so my planning is quite sparse – examine the containers, pick a few, place the contents on a plate and use the microwave. I start the planning process about 10 minutes before I want to eat.
Having a full five hours of warning is almost too much!! But not so much that I couldn’t say “yes” to supper out. So, off to the Coliseum at 5:00 – good food, good conversation, good time!!
