On to today

Well, the yesterday experience was ongoing.  By the end of the day I had set up a funeral, gotten an oil change, arranged a contract for this coming year (one of my side-hustles), had supper out, checked on fencing material and crushed rock availability, visited with a number of people at various locations in town (that’s what happens when you go to the Post Office and pick up groceries), check out a recording studio, and . . .

Today is shaping up much the same.  Plans to pick up fencing materials and rocks, two webinar/workshops, set up music for May 22nd, talk to a friend on both business and personal matters, and . . .

“Blessed are those whose shape flexes for they shall spring forth new every morning”.

As the Day Starts

My possible first appointment for today ended up being cancelled.

So I arranged an oil change – 1/2 hour after I phoned them I was there.

Meanwhile, a phone call immediately following the oil change call set up a contract and a meeting in a few days.

While waiting for the oil change to be completed, I received a call to consider officiating a funeral this week.

I came home and recycled some branches.

Next . . .

“Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.”

Mother’s day Zoom call

You have to laugh at the weather.  Whether you want to or not!

Yesterday we had a Mother’s day Zoom call.  Basically Alberta and Saskatchewan residents.

Part way through the visit, one mentioned that it was snowing outside.  Another spoke of hail.  Others of us watched the sun shine brightly.

And that is shared experiences in our day and age.  Used to be we would all try to crowd around a table – now we crowd around a screen.  Used to be we would share the same air, now we share the same pixels.  Used to be a day to catch the latest cold or share our health, now we share . . .

What If?

I have lived with the thought of “even if” for some time.  That is the idea that as life comes, consider the worst case scenario.  From the worst case, decide to do the right thing with hope and joy.

This is a good guiding principle for life.  This is what I call an antidote to the “what if” syndrome.  What if starts first from fear – no matter if the circumstance is good or bad – you can always find something worse!

I’d like to turn the “WHAT IF”  scenario on its head today.  What if, in examining life’s current offerings, we were to tithe ourselves to consider at least a 10% better day today.

What would that tithe look like for you today?
