Around the block

As the dinner meal settled, my wife and I walked around the block.  We stopped to chat at one house, examined the lawn on another and admired the large, well manicured back yard as we strolled down a back alley. This is all for the sake of fitness.  Or maybe for the sake of relationship.  Or maybe for the sake of walking with the one I love! Take a stroll around your block.  See what enjoyment you can have!

Yesterday afternoon our church's intern for the fall arrived.  Ryan Lee, his wife Sharon and their newborn James came in a caravan of vehicles.  Unloading took just a few minutes with over a dozen willing hands.  Thus begins a new adventure for the intern and his family, for our church and it's family.  Keep posted!

Well, here are a few pictures from the Sunday service.  Around 3o0 in attendance in sweltering heat.  A good time together, with a good sense of community!

Estimating parade attendance

As we left perhaps the largest parade our small town of Kindersley has ever sponsored (about an hour long with everything from military displays to horses to square dancing to tractors to the closing firetruck and street sweeper), I began to wonder. How many people showed up?  This is our 100th anniversary as a town so we have a number of visitors. Now, there were eight blocks of viewing, two sides of the street.  So that is 16 blocks of people.  In our block there were approximately 10 store fronts.  We fit around 15 -20 people per store front.  So maybe up to 200 hundred people per block with 16 blocks would make around 3,200 people lining the streets.  Take a look at the picture below.  Maybe it is easier just to count the people?  And this is without the first block of people. How many do you see?
