For many years I would buy a new Teflon coated frying pan. For Christmas. For Jill. Because nothing says “Christmas” like a frying pan!
Then the inevitable happened. Too many frying pans! You can’t keep buying and buying and hoping that a frying pan will wear out each year.
These past few years have been excruciating. I’ve had to think about what to buy!
But, behold, my salvation is near.
We threw out our large frying pan today. The teflon was scarred. Brown matter emanates from the pan — I guess you call it rust.
The request was forthcoming. “I need a new frying pan.”
Just in time for Christmas.
I love practical gifts. Why not buy a gift for someone, that they actually want? This year my three older kids and all of my husband’s four grown up children are getting practical kitchen appliances. We gave them three ideas and then told them if they didn’t reply they were all going to get the kitchen griddle. Only one taker for the griddle, and then we found a neat one that comes with a second set of ‘plates’ to convert to a grill. Merry Christmas
(I personally had to ask twice to get a mixer. My other ones both ‘died’. Thinking it was perhaps a temporary state, I tried them both again and in front of my youngest child, showed him how the beaters kept getting stuck. I tossed the mixers out and then told my husband I needed a new mixer.
