New skin, small limbs and innocent smiles.
That was the blessing I looked upon today. Twice in the last two weeks I’ve been happened upon children — new born — and their parents.
Both mothers are first time birth-givers. As I look at the new child, the mother is beaming. She has gone through the last months uncomfortably, with the day of delivery heightening that discomfort. But now . . . a child is born and smiles abound. Today’s father was just beaming. Couldn’t stop smiling. Effusive in his joy is not an overstatement.
Oh, there will be days to come — when they will wish the day would go quickly. But, the first day is a happy one, with the promise of many more to come. So, I prayed for health and a good life. God is good!
This entry creates a greater longing for our soon to arrive grandchild — 5 or so weeks left — and then come May another is due to arrive — That will mean each of my children have children — but the beauty of a newborn certainly makes smiles all around.
Can hardly wait.
Have a great day.
