Somedays you forget!
In a past life, I coordinated a number of drama productions. They ranged from skits to full length productions with flats and blocking, scene changes and full staging.
Tonight I felt back into it! We needed a small stage area for a drum set in an upcoming concert. The size was inconsequential. Here I was once again smelling the wood and putting together a platform. Old days flood back. Seeing a stage built four feet high to serve as a "radio station". Complete staging around a large platform to provide a running area for the actors behind the action.
When you’ve seen what can be done, you seldom stop at merely adequate.
So tonight, for three hours I worked on a small 6′ x 6′ platform that will be solid enough for drums, should absorb the rhythm, and is heavy enough to strain my back.
But all in all — it will work!!
Thanks Ron!
