Upon their arrival!

I’m just finishing a nap.  Then my exercises.

I hear small feet.  A bit of a cough. Some ladies talking.

I head to the kitchen.  My daughter has arrived.  With her two year old son.

The outdoors beckon.  We head outside.  Walk up and down —  not too far.

Now he’s drawing.  I’m appreciating the artist of the century.

That’s what grandparents are for!!

This coming week

Tomorrow my daughter arrives for a few days, with our grandson.  They will be here to watch over me.

Monday, my wife leaves wih her sister for Edmonton.  There, on Wednesday, she will have surgery to replace her heart pacemaker battery.  Hopefully they will return the end to the week.

So, tonight we rest and prepare.

Running days are over!

I expected this.  I prepared for it.

But when the day comes that you begin to think, to stretch, advance.  Running comes to mind.  The wind in the ears.  The sprint to reach your destination.  There is some kind of adrenalin involved.  Perhaps a bit of competitiveness.

So today at physio I mentioned that I seemed to be advancing but wasn’t out running yet.

"Your running days are over!", the physio therpaist asserted. Nicely. Definitively.

I guess I can still cover the same ground, just a little slower!

Well, happy morning!

This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Not a bad phrase to start your day.  Not every morning starts with "jump out of bed" excitement.  Today was a bit groggy.  Not good, not bad!  So, as a compass orients you to true north, this saying orients me to the day.

May your day begin pointed towards God!
