Fun time restoring a yard!

For the past year or so a friend of ours has been unable to do any real yard work.  The lady across the street would mow the front lawn.  Beyond that, there was a bit of jungle in the back yard.

Three of us ventured over today.  We weeded the driveway, edged the grass and mowed whatever was in front of us.  After four hours (three hours mowing the backyard alone) we declared work for the day done.  Actually things look pretty good.

Off to Tim Horton’s for a quick lunch and debriefing (who ever heard of debriefing lawn mowing!).

For me, the exercise was great.  My knees worked well and my back is not aching.  All good!!

Camp Day

Thursday was our assigned day to work in the kitchen at Luseland Bible Camp.  This week is the senior teens week.  A great bunch of kids, just over 20 registered.

Lunch was pizza, supper was BBQed hamburgers.  Morning breakfast even had oatmeal!  No one starves and many enjoy a week of “teen” food.

There are regular activities and crafts.  A tuck time to eat junk food.  And a few fun activities like the “slip and slide” below!

Japan thoughts

That was the title of a blog I wrote two years ago.  We met with two missionaries and planned ways to link with them in their work in Japan.  The thinking is still ongoing, but the progress seems small.  We have prayed for them.  We have had them speak at the church.  We’ve posted their letters.  But more is needed.  I’m wondering what God has in store for us in the coming  year!

Latest on Dad?

Well, I just heard that Dad is probably being transferred to Rosetown today.  He ate well this morning.  I guess they figure he’s good enough to ship down the road.  And we’ll be glad to see him a little closer!
