Washing window

OK, so it was just one window!

I had to climb a ladder and have my wife spot me.  No pictures were taken — it was not a pretty sight.

First time I’ve been suspended off the ground like that since knee surgery.  The feeling is extreme (a new twist on the idea of extreme sports!!).  May I move towards greater and greater extremes — like standing for a full hour without pain, or walking around a golf course, or even kick a soccer ball (which may not be the best idea, but would be fun).

Sometimes a name just appears.  You are reading a book.  Or driving down the street.  Or checking out a music website.

Lo, and behold, (one of my favourite phrases), the name Doug Smith arises.  And he is a guitarist.  A good one at that.  So, here is his site for all you people who live in the shadow of someone "famous".

By the way, I couldn’t get the website www.ronbaker.com because a car salesman already had it.  Talk about being overshadowed by fame!!

Swithching over to WordPress

I’m making the switch.

This blog runs on a program called fusion publisher.  Lately I’ve been looking for a few more things.  And I’ve been encouraged by a cheaper rate.  All if I switch to a program called WordPress.

Now, this is whole new ground for me.  So, if the blog disappears, or doesn’t do everything you expect, or looks different — bear with me.  Hopefully things will go smoothly.  Or not!

The youth of our elders!

Every week I get an email of the ministry tool box of Rick Warren .  Rick is the Purpose Driven life guy — not the "New Earth: Awakening to your life’s purpose" (Eckhart Tolle) guy.  NOTE:  For those of you who are reading bestsellers — the previous sentence reflects that fact that two bestseller books in the last decade have focused on purposeful lives, both with totally different views.

Reading to the bottom of  "the ministry tool box" you find quotes.  Often they are mundane or on a topic of "non-interest".  But sometimes my funny bone is tickled.  Today’s email had such an effect on me.  Here’s the quote:

"Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what happened." – Jennifer Yane.

Now, I think that goes for 16 year olds, and for 96 year olds.  I just think when  you are 96, it takes you longer to wonder what happened!!
