This is the day

Sunday is a sense of perception.  At least in previous years there was a sense in which Sunday was seen as a day off.  Off of buying and selling.  Off going to work.  Off a lot of activity.

As I was driving home from our church service today, I looked around at open stores, cars rushing somewhere, and people who have a new perception.  Every day is the same as the previous day.  There is no common day off.

What if there was?  A common day?  What would our community look like?  What would our country look like?

Had a rough week…your sermon blessed me and put me back “at peace”, thank you for that.

Yes, it is nice to long for the “old” days. The days when the stores were indeed closed on sunday and there seemed to be more “time”. I think we all as a society need to look at the unneccessaryness of instant and constant and look toward a return to an honest “day of rest”. I’m sure things would still get done and possibly with more enthusiasm and a better sense of caring. Just a thought…
