Thursday closed with a dress rehearsal.  All the songs were played/sung through.  The sound system was EQed and the chairs are set.

Now all we need are people.

So, if at 7:30 tonight you need a place to be come to the Kindersley Alliance Church, 74 West Road in Kindersley.

The concert is free (free will donations are accepted).  The music is great.  A night out on the town!!

See you there!

New Babies

New skin, small limbs and innocent smiles.

That was the blessing I looked upon today.  Twice in the last two weeks I’ve been happened upon children — new born — and their parents.

Both mothers are first time birth-givers.  As I look at the new child, the mother is beaming.  She has gone through the last months uncomfortably, with the day of delivery heightening that discomfort.  But now . . . a child is born and smiles abound.  Today’s father was just beaming.  Couldn’t stop smiling.  Effusive in his joy is not an overstatement.

Oh, there will be days to come — when they will wish the day would go quickly.  But, the first day is a happy one, with the promise of many more to come.  So, I prayed for health and a good life.  God is good!

Our son is back!

Tim arrived in Saskatoon at midnight.  The drive home was uneventful (no deer or other wildlife to disturb the ride!).  In bed by 3:00 am.

Now, I’m writing this at lunch as we put together schedules and the general arrangements upon arrival back.  Looks like he is here for almost two months.  The next few days he’ll slip up to Edmonton to care for some business.  Thanksgiving there is a family reunion.  Perhaps a few classes he would like to take while he’s here.  And then back on board ship by mid-November.

Good to have him here.

21 golfers.  Great lunch.  Prizes galore.

The day started at 10:05 with 5 flights of golfers.  Nine holes later, playing best ball, and one team comes in with a 38 — the winning score.

My knees were a little sore, so I was assigned official photographer.  Here’s one of those pictures — who is really up to hit the golf ball?
